Four years of observations from the European Space Agency's
Integral (INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory)
satellite may have cleared up one of the most vexing mysteries in
our Milky Way: the origin of a giant cloud of antimatter
surrounding the galactic centre.
The Spiral Jetty is a large earthwork which was built in the
shallow, pink waters of the Northern arm of the Great Salt Lake in
1970. The 1500-foot-long spiral was submerged for decades by high
water levels, but it has recently returned to the surface, and is
now at the leading edge of a controversial drilling proposal.
The exhibition that is soon to open at the O2 represents the first
time that treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun have come to
Britain for 35 years, and only the second time they have visited
these shores since their discovery in 1922. The first such occasion
